This piece sets original translations of text by Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, tracing an uncertain path from the embers of fall to the hesitant glow of spring.

Influenced by the smoky, ambiguous atmosphere of China Mieville’s novel The City and the City, this piece features a soloist wandering through shifting soundscapes of processed violin knocks and unsettling sine waves.
